Cevisama 2018: a close look to the Valencia ceramic and bathroom furniture fair


Cevisama 2018 is the best edition of the recent years for the famous ceramics and bathroom accessories fair in Valencia. What are the insights of this year?

From February 5th until the 9th the city of Valencia, Spain, is hosting the Cevisama fair, one of the most important international events for porcelain, ceramic and bathroom furnishings. This 2018 edition is being juicier than ever: a new pavilion has been installed to host more exhibitors and brands with their latest products and design. The last edition of Cevisama 2017 registered the total visit of 83,896 professionals, an increase of 7’3% compared to the 2016 edition and the return to previous registrations to 2009. For this year, it is the predicted that the final numbers are going to be much higher, since on the second day of the fair an astonishing number of visitors and buyers already visited the pavilions.

The new exhibitors of Cevisama 2018 are mainly from Italy, the country that most of all to set trends and tendencies for interior design. The Valencia fair is considered a valuable showcase for every brand’s new collections and innovation: big companies, as well as emerging ones, are recognizing the great potential of this exhibition, where they are showing the main previews. Cevisama has carried out a number of international promotional activities over the last twelve months, making efforts to attract visitors that could potentially become good customers. The coordinators also made deals with retail groups in the United States and the main European countries, as well as with associations of architects and interior designers: all in order to make Cevisama 2018 be the best and biggest edition of the ceramic and bathroom decoration fair.

The goal of Cevisama’s coordinators is to make the fair more interesting and dynamic, in order to attract quality visitors, both experts in the sector involved in various projects, retailers, suppliers, architects, interior designers, and property developers. To achieve this goal, Cevisama is launching a fresh initiative this year, called “Retailer Day”, to acknowledge and exalt the part retailers play in driving the ceramic tile and bathroom industries forward. “Retailer Day” will be on February 7th and it will include a conference about the topic of our new digital era and how the industry is changing along with it, followed by a ceremony where the best bathroom furniture and ceramic retailers will be rewarded with some awards.

But those will not be the only awards of this year’s edition. Cevisama and the Valencia College of Interior Designers (CDICV) will reward the best stands of the fair, with the aim to acknowledge and encourage the work of the exhibitors in the installation of its exhibition spaces. This year three prizes to stands will be assigned. Among the criteria of selction for the winders, the quality of the design of the stand will be taken in consideration, as well as materials used for the structure and the harmony between the exhibition space the single stands and its products. The jury, selected by the CDICV, is composed of independent professionals with experience and demonstrated knowledge in interior design. All exhibitors of Cevisama 2018 concur to the competition.
