“Love happens” is the motto of a young and innovative brand, whose stand was a real show stopper this year the Milan furniture Fair. We are talking about Koket, a company with strong values and a unique personality. Eurooo has recently started a partnership with this promising brand, and visited their stand at the Salone del Mobile, full of curiosity for their newest products. We must say we were far from disappointed by their last creations, that literary stole our heart with their precious materials and tasteful details. The reason is very simple: each and every one of the decoration pieces by Koket is truly made with love, and the passion of their designers shines through their wonderful creations. Let us show you the pieces that caught our eyes the most in this stand, and find out more exclusive insights that we were able to find out about them.
What does “made with love” really mean? How can furniture design interpret this “Love happens” motto and bring it into everyone’s home décor? Janet Morais, founder of the company, wants Koket to be a true expression of herself: her personality, her taste in design, but most importantly, her passion. Furniture by Koket is extremely elegant and sophisticated, but even the most luxurious of their pieces never feels cold or distant: their design speaks straight to the heart. Unlike some other posh high-end furniture brands, this company wants to speak to its customers by expressing something really personal and honest about its owner and creative director. One of the pieces that this year caught many eyes’ attention at their Salone del Mobile stand, was the Bella mirror. This object combines the inspiration from Art Deco style, with charming asymmetries and an irresistible aged effect. The center part of the mirror, its very heart, is convex, and left untouched by the vintage finishes of the other reflecting parts. The charming aged effect, obtained with a manufacturing technique that uses heat and flames to modify the look of the surface, is adjustable to the clients wishes, as well the size of the mirror, which can be chosen according to the needs. “Love happens” also means to care about every client’s specific requirements and desires, in the best way possible.
Another piece that perfectly express Koket’s philosophy is the Revê mirror. This item was already a part of the previous collection, but this years it renovates itself, with a new captivating personality. The original inspiration for its peculiar shape was the movement of a skirt of a little girl, floating around her body while she hops and plays around, or an elegant ballet dancer costume. The new version created for the Milan Furniture Fair features three different colors, layered in shiny metal layers. The new Revê mirror took its colors from a beautiful Cartier ring. The final goal was to create a decoration item which could be fun and young looking, but also elegant, luxurious and eye-catching. The way the three rings of this mirror captured and reflected light was truly magical, and we hope this picture can give our readers a glimpse of this charming effect, a reflection of the astonishing emotion we felt.
Light design is a fundamental part of Koket’s collection. Chandeliers and lamps that were showcased at the Salone del Mobile were bold, daring, but always tasteful and elegant. We really want to show you the Outburst chandelier: a very spectacular piece, one of the most successful for the first day of the exhibition. It is undoubtedly one of the most demanding pieces, a design that can be truly appreciated by an eccentric personality. The made structure is made of brass, with many arms that literaly burst out of its center, with pointy arrows of glass. Some of these brass arms ends with little sculptures of hands, almost as if the chandelier would want to reach out to the visitors, inviting them to join its crazy design world. The inspiration for this unique light design is the sun, with its unbounded energy. The Outburst chandelier aims to represent the powerful explosion of emotion, the heat and the liveliness of the sunrays. This objects is a statement not only about home décor, but about life itself.
Koket design can be daring and eccentric, but is also able to tame its tones into a smoother style, still managing to stand out from the crowd. Their newest collection includes sofas really made with love, with a slight Arabic inspiration in the shapes. The piece is far from the excess of the chandelier we have seen before, but it still has the same uniqueness and attention to details. The sofa is also customizable and modular, so that every client can combine it and use its particular curved shapes, creating their very own relaxing corner of elegance. Besides, other furniture pieces were designed to be the perfect match for this couch, like these adorable serigraphy-inspired poufs: it is very important for this brand to create cohesive and harmonious environments for their clients, and provide them with a 100% authentic Koket experience.
You should have already realized that Koket is much more than a simple furniture brand: it is a company that pursues uniqueness, creativity and functionality, that wants to share a clear vision of elegance and beauty with its customers. Such an artistic company couldn’t stop at designing furniture: they committed to the creations of beautiful statues too. The pièce de résistance of their stand at the Furniture Fair was a golden wall sculpture, that resembled a beautiful branch of a tree, blooming with the same spring that is entering the city of Milan these days. Art must surely follow its creator’s inspiration, but when it becomes part of interior design, it must also follow the client’s needs. That is why even this astonishing brass sculpture is customizable: you will be able to choose the size of the blooming branch, and the disposition of the flowers. Art at your service, always made with love, by Koket.
