Feria Hábitat Valencia will be showcasing more than 400 companies and brands. With the highest number of visitors ever expected to attend, the fair’s organizers have devised an extensive programme of lectures, exhibitions, talks and discussions centered on design, interior design and the contract channel. The focal point of these activities is the “Ágora” nude forum and every day there will be a full programme of events for visitors to Hábitat to attend, delivered by Spain’s foremost and most influential design professionals.
The programme takes off after Hábitat’s official opening, scheduled for midday on Tuesday 18th. First up is a guided tour of the exhibition of Alicante based designer Mario Ruiz’s work. Ruiz won the National Prize for Design in 2016 and will be leading the tour himself. In the afternoon a seminar titled “Contemporary Craftsmanship under the spotlight: collaboration between craftsmen and designers” will analyze the relationship between craftsmanship and design. Speakers include eminent professionals such as Enrique Loewe, manufacturers such as Lladró and leading schools of design.
A historical event that exhibits muscle. The Hábitat Valencia fair will open its doors this Tuesday with a consolidation of its offer, which includes 415 international brands and brands in more than 45,000 square meters gross of exposure. The appointment registers a 20 percent more of reservations of visitors and has confirmed the visit of more than 1.000 foreign buyers coming from 56 countries. The agenda has a new collection of living room furnitures with modern and contemporary designs in a different section.

In total, Habitat will have more than 45,000 square meters gross of exhibition space and a net occupancy that this year exceeds by 30% the size of the stands of the previous edition.
According to Feria Valencia, these "good figures" are mainly due to the fact that the fair "has renewed practically all the exhibitors of last year after the good results recorded" and the incorporation of a "selected group of firms", among which stand out first brands in the field of design, youth and contemporary. It is also highlighted the incorporation of Italian brands, which has practically doubled its participation compared to the last appointment.
After the excellent results recorded in the last edition and fulfilled the objective of recovering for Valencia such an emblematic fair as Habitat, this year they would consolidate the competition in a powerful way to start a path of sustainable growth and betting, above all, to offer the best firms, quality and superior design and with the best services for the professionals who visit us ".
The expectations regarding visitors are also "excellent", according to the entity. In recent weeks the fair has received a 20% more reservation of tickets from professionals that add to the confirmations of foreign buyers, which make portend an "excellent" week for the hospitality and hotel sector in Valencia.
Directly, the contest has closed the direct invitation and the visit of more than 1,000 foreign buyers and prescribers from 56 countries (eleven more than in 2017), in what supposes the "most ambitious program of international guests realized of the last years".
According to the latest official figures, in the first half of the year furniture exports in Spain increased by 2.5% to reach 1,074 million euros, a figure "especially significant" in the Comunitat Valenciana, whose furniture exports exceeded the state average to increase up to 10% compared to the first half of the previous year.
