Mazzega 1946 produces handmade glass lighting items and custom-made furnishings for luxury hotels and retail outlets, including Murano chandeliers and lamps.
Angelo Vittorio Mazzega founded Mazzega 1946 in 1946, taking with him centuries of experience in the art of handmade glass making. After 4 years, in 1950, Gianni Bruno Mazzega started working in the family glass factory, where he also came in contact with lighting items. Production of hand made lights started in 1960, and after only 10 years the company became one of the most important lighting companies in Italy. It was in 1980 that the first cooperations with internationally-acclaimed designers started (De Lucchi, Piva), which was also one of the reasons why the company began to have a very huge impact on the Italian Design world. In 1990, along with its traditional lines, and always in the high-quality theme, Mazzega 1946 created its first custom-made furnishings for luxury hotels and retail outlets. Andrea Mazzega took over the management of the company and started his project of restyling and innovation in 2000. In 2010, while keeping the headquarters and furnace on Murano island, a new logistics facility was then established on the mainland of Venice.
